Sais-tu qu’avant les actrices/acteurs ne parlaient pas dans les films ?

This workshop (entitled Did you know that once upon a time actresses/actors didn’t talk in films?) was especially organized for kids from 6 to 9 years olds, in collaboration with Université Des Enfants – ULB and PointCulture ULB Ixelles, which hosted the event.

The aim of the workshop was to familiarize children with the history of cinema from its origins until the end of the silent era (ca 1895-1930), especially focusing on the role of women and dance in silent films.

The workshop was in French, yet you can find below a link to both the English and the French version of the interactive quiz (for kids from 6 to 9 years old), especially created by film scholar Elisa Uffreduzzi on the online platform Genially:

French version and English version. Click on your preferred version, if you want to make your kids have a try! The quiz also works on tablets and smartphones.

In the pictures below you can see some of the activities of the workshop, which were integrated into the lecture of the research fellow.
